Meet the Founder, Aimee Strauss

Hi there - Aimee here! I turned to the practice of yoga when I was 18 years old and it helped me so much that once I started I never looked back. At 18, I was in the midst of coming out of an emotionally abusive relationship and was dealing with unprocessed trauma from when I was a teen. The combination of these things left me with crippling anxiety, severe panic attacks, and borderline depression. I was desperate for relief and having heard how great yoga was for anxiety, I decided to try it. I kid you not when I say after my very first yoga class at age 18, I knew I would some day want to get my yoga certification and help others by giving them this gift.

Developing a consistent yoga practice completely changed my life. My anxiety began to dissipate, my panic attacks subsided; yoga is what helped me to stay afloat during that tough time in my life. It was the only thing that helped me stay connected to myself. Fast forward to 7 years later (and lots of therapy sessions later!) - I have now completed 300 hours of Yoga Instruction trainings in vinyasa flow (flow yoga - more active style of yoga that links breath with movement), meditation, pranayama (breathwork/techniques), yin/deep stretch (yoga with longer holds in specific stretches that get deep into the fascia of the body), restorative, and energetic anatomy (chakras/energy centers within body).

It is my passion to bring the gift of personalized yoga to others. Whatever issues one may be working through, I love helping individuals by working with them one-on-one to cater a practice that suits them and their needs. This includes helping to release anxiety and reduce stress, teaching how to handle burnout, finding a mindfulness practice through meditation, using yoga to work through an injury or low back pain, etc. My goal is to help you connect back to yourself through introspection and cultivating an awareness around mindfulness.

My motto is that yoga is for everyone and it is my mission to help others by bringing personalized yoga to you, privately, right in the comfort of your own home.
